go2HR is Seeking New Health and Safety Advisory Committee Members!

go2HR’s health and safety advisory committee is an industry driven committee, with representatives from a range of businesses operating across BC’s tourism and hospitality industry. The purpose of the committee is to provide advice, feedback and direction to help shape our health and safety programs and initiatives. It also offers opportunities to collaborate and share ideas and best practices with industry peers.

Our current membership comprises businesses from across the province, representing food and beverage, accommodation and outdoor sport and recreation, which, together, represent the three major sectors of the tourism and hospitality industry in BC. Other members include WorkSafeBC and the Employers’ Advisors Office representatives and, of course, go2HR’s health and safety team.

We are expanding our committee and are particularly keen to recruit new committee members from Northern BC, The Cariboo Chilcotin Coast, the Kootenay Rockies and  North Vancouver Island, to ensure broad geographical representation. However, if you work in a different area of the province and are interested in joining and contributing to our committee, we encourage you to apply too.

We are looking for people who understand the occupational health and safety framework in BC, and who demonstrate their  commitment to, and passion for advancing  health and safety in the workplace. You should also be willing, and able, to commit to attending committee meetings on a regular basis (both virtually and face to face) and bringing ideas and enthusiasm to the table!

This is a voluntary position; however, all travel and related expenses will be covered when attending face to face meetings.

We welcome expressions of interest from those with direct responsibilities for occupational health and safety, HR, or from those in operational roles with a significant focus on occupational health and safety; whether in a management, supervisory or non-management role in your workplace.
