go2HR’s Industry Health & Safety Program offers a variety of services, training and resources, developed with industry input, to help support your occupational health and safety (OHS) program. Whether you’re starting a program for the first time and don’t know where to begin, or you’re looking to improve your current program, we can help you get there.
Foundations of Workplace Safety Course
This is an interactive online course designed specifically for young and new workers. It provides a friendly, straightforward introduction to occupational health and safety for anyone working in the tourism and hospitality industry. The course includes a WHMIS component. Students receive a certificate once they have successfully completed the course, final exam and course evaluation.
Occupational Health and Safety Program Fundamentals Course
Designed by go2HR®, this online course is geared towards employers, managers and supervisors working in British Columbia’s tourism and hospitality industry. This interactive, nine-module course covers the fundamental principles of OHS programs in BC. Students gain an understanding of the key elements of a safety management system through a series of interactive exercises and quizzes. Upon successful completion, students will earn a certificate of completion.
Resource Library
You’ll find a variety of free, sector-specific and customizable resources that will assist you in making your workplace healthier and safer. These resources range from OHS program templates, toolkits, forms and checklists to videos, posters, articles and booklets.
OHS Webinars
We offer regular webinars on a range of current OHS topics as part of our educational program. Webinars are a great way to work towards completing your professional development requirements as a health and safety professional or COR internal auditor. Join a go2HR webinar with your joint health and safety committee (JHSC) members to learn something new that you can take back to your business. Attendance at our webinars also counts towards your JHSC annual training entitlement.
OHS Roundtables
We host OHS roundtables for employers in communities across BC. These sessions are flexible, so we can tailor the content according to your health and safety challenges and what you would like to learn about or discuss. Our roundtables provide you with an opportunity to:
- Discuss hot OHS topics relevant to your industry, sector or region.
- Receive updates on go2HR’s Industry Health & Safety program, including new resources, the COR program, training options and other initiatives.
- Meet and network with your peers from the BC tourism and hospitality industry.
- Invite your contacts to join the session and share ideas and insights as a community.
- Ask questions and get to know your Industry Health and Safety Specialist.

OHS Program Gap Analysis
If you are registered in the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program and feel ready to proceed towards your COR certification audit, you may choose to schedule a complimentary, on-site OHS program gap analysis session. The consultation is conducted by an OHS specialist with experience in the tourism and hospitality industry and an in-depth knowledge of the requirements of the COR program. Following the consultation, you’ll receive a summary report that highlights the key findings and recommendations.
Safety Advisory Service
This service is designed to provide the highest possible level of support to all companies involved in COR. go2HR has an in-house OHS specialist with experience in the tourism and hospitality industry and an in-depth knowledge of the requirements of the COR program. The specialist is available to answer any of your workplace health and safety inquiries and share best practice tips, tools and resources. This service is available at no charge to organizations registered in the COR program.
COR Health & Safety Program Toolkit
These comprehensive resources cover the elements of the COR audit and general requirements of a health and safety program. Each element also includes a range of supporting templates and examples to help you build your health and safety program. Refer to the various links throughout to learn more about the relevant legislation and sources of further information.
COR Internal Auditor Training
A certified COR internal auditor has the ability to perform the company’s maintenance audits in year 2 and year 3 of the COR audit cycle. In order to achieve and maintain the COR internal auditor certification, this individual must complete the COR internal auditor training, submit a student audit, and maintain their certification.
