Role Proposition:

Do you love skiing or snowboarding? Sun Peaks is looking to hire Lift Maintenance Helper for the remainder of the summer season. Are you a hard worker who enjoys being outside? If you are cheerful and hard-working, we want to hear from you! Our Lift Maintenance Helpers are part of the lift maintenance team.

Our Lift Maintenance Helpers are part of a team that includes Millwright – Lift Mechanics and Apprentices that maintain passenger ropeways and conveyors at the resort. You will be essential in ensuring that our lift run safely and reliably. Be part of a team, work in a technically and physically challenging role, stay fit and have fun! Accountabilities:

• Performing all duties assigned by the Lift Maintenance Manager, Lead hands or Lift Mechanics.
• Operate passenger ropeways in a safe and responsible manner and follow work carrier procedures
• Working safely around rotating equipment in a safe and responsible manner and following lock-out procedures as required

• Assist in ensuring all lifts are maintained according to current Z-98 code requirements and manufacturer’s recommendations
• Work safely and follow safety procedures when working at heights
• Assist lift mechanics with all aspects of lift and department equipment maintenance

• Extend the highest degree of courtesy and respect in dealings with SPRLLP management, staff, co-workers, and guests at all times
• Maintain confident and presentable representation of the department
• Accept and follow the direction of any SPRLLP supervisor or manager as may be requested
• Keep a clean, organized and safe work environment
• Keep good track of work performed and ensure it is recorded as required
• Help develop existing record keeping systems

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Adhere to all Sun Peaks Resort LLP policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook
• Attend SPRLLP orientation and training sessions as required
• Other duties as required to ensure successful operation of the department including support of other departments and special promotions

Ideal Candidate:

• Valid Class 5 BC drivers license - drivers abstract required
• Able to operate snowmobiles, ATV’s and 4x4 trucks in a safe and responsible manner
• Minimum age requirement: 18 years old.
• Mechanical aptitude
• Able to work in all weather conditions, at excessive heights, and walk up and down hills in rough terrain, work in cold weather,
• Good communications skills, self-motivated, mature, dependable, timely and able to work well with others
• Must be able to maintain a calm, effective and friendly manner under periods of stress
• Strong desire to develop a career in the ski industry, this position can be a good way to build qualifications for millwright apprentice positions.
