Destination Campbell River is searching for the ideal individual to join our team for an 8-week contract as a Visitor Services Counselor with an interest in content creation. As a Visitor Services Counselor, you will have a unique opportunity to act as an ambassador for Campbell River, Strathcona Region and the surrounding area. Through the delivery of exemplary visitor and customer services, you can share your passion and knowledge of Campbell River and the region with travellers, residents and the community alike.
Position Responsibilities:
Visitor Services Counsellors have a strong appreciation for the importance of providing exceptional customer service and will actively seek means to improve the visitor services and the local experience and the understanding that the information provided to guests varies based on individual needs and interests. Additional task includes working with the Social Media and Content Coordinator to update the website, create content, do social listening and short-form stories.
Requires and Qualifications
Have a high standard of verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
An eye for proofreading.
Ability to exercise creativity and create compelling visual stories.
Experience with updating WordPress websites would be an asset.
Photography skills and video editing/production experience is a plus.
Creating graphics for social media.
Ensure brand consistency in copy through tone, voice and terminology
Experience in editing and adding effects to social media videos
Outgoing, friendly and welcoming personality, quick with a joke.
Excellent project management and organizational skills
You must be available to work weekends & holidays during the busy summer season, and occasional evenings for events.
